Hello, I’m Susan.

I was born and raised in the Maryland countryside, where the winters are bitter and snow-days are a regular occurrence. Four years ago, I decided to flee the Baltimore-D.C. area and head south to Fort Lauderdale, just weeks before winter storms dumped 28” of snow on the area.

I have over 12 years of experience in the marketing industry—most recently working as a front-end developer and email marketing specialist at T. Rowe Price Inc., a global investment management firm. I worked in the Baltimore office for a few years, until I moved down to Florida, where I continued to work for three years remotely as a full-time employee.

Working remotely isn’t for everybody, but I was able to stay well-connected with my team and maintain a disciplined, productive schedule. I’m a designer at heart with print and web expertise. I’m a fast learner, very productive under pressure and I consistently complete projects ahead of schedule. I feel that I am very responsive to team’s needs and efforts, always acting as an enthusiastic cheerleader and contributor to team goals.

In my free time, you can find me obsessively taking pictures of my French bulldog, fruitlessly day-trading on the stock market, and moonlighting as an un-trained sommelier. I recently obtained my motorcycle license, although I prefer riding my bicycle or splashing through puddles in my Jeep. I am a licensed Realtor in the state of Florida as well, so I hope to continue in my real estate endeavors on weekends.

I am a young breast cancer survivor; I run a successful writing blog dedicated to guiding young women through the anxiety and challenges that arise as a cancer patient. I write in hopes that I can help fellow survivors see the light at the end of the (CT scan) tunnel. I’ve seen the highs and lows of life at an early age, so there is nothing that scares me or stands in my way.

You may notice a gap in my professional work timeline; I resigned from T. Rowe Price to take a year off to unwind from the corporate world and reset myself so that I may rejoin the workforce with an eager zest to thrive and welcome new challenges. I’m more than ready now! I look forward to being an ample contributor to my future employer and striving towards mutual success in my next venture.

Hey, look at my stuff –>

Email Marketing:

The majority of these are from 123Print, where I designed and launched 3-4 new campaigns/designs each week. It’s difficult to show samples from T. Rowe Price, because they’re mostly personalized data and I wasn’t allowed access to the original files for security reasons. I do have a few code files that are available on request.

Graphic Design, etc.

Blog & T-shirt Designs:

My personal WordPress blog, Betchesguidetocancer.com, and various t-shirt designs that I’ve made which I sell on my website and through Threadless.
